One of the most interesting aspects of the course was delving into how I was raised and the impact that was having on me now. Frequently Asked Questions

  • I strongly encourage you to attend every session as what you learn builds on previous sessions. No worries if you’re in your dressing gown or surrounded by toys – just show up as you are! Sessions are not recorded for privacy so if you miss a session a “catch up” session is offered at $90 (30-45mins)

  • I will always be the facilitator. I am an accredited Circle of Security Parenting and Classroom coach. You’re in safe hands, in 2024 alone, I facilitated this course with over 150 caregivers. You can read more about me [here]

  • The groups are capped at 8 families at a time. This allows everyone to engage and reflect together in a connected and relational way. After all, this is a relationship course.

  • While the course involves lots of opportunities to reflect together, every participant will engage in the course differently. My priority is to create an environment where you will feel safe enough to share your reflections but there is no need to contribute or speak up if that is something that makes you feel uncomfortable.

  • Yes, you can read more about how the course aligns with trauma-informed practice here - https://www.circleofsecurityinternational.com/circle-of-security-model/is-cosp-trauma-informed/

  • This is a common question, the good news is that all humans have a fully functioning attachment system. Children and educators who are neurodivergent may communicate the needs on the circle in their own way and the course provides the opportunity to think about that. You can read more here.

  • Circle of Security is unlike traditional behavior-management courses. Rather than focusing on managing behaviors, it gives you tools to understand and meet your child’s underlying needs, building trust and connections that last a lifetime. You’ll leave with the confidence to deal with any situation that comes up.

  • Yes, depending on your individual NDIS plan and eligibility, you may be able to use NDIS funding to access a Circle of Security parenting program, as it is considered a service that can support improved relationships and daily living skills for eligible participants; however, it's crucial to consult with your NDIS planner to confirm if your specific needs qualify for funding in this area.
